Kicking Off 2025 with a Homecoming Giveaway in Rockford, IL
Touching Soles returned to Rockford, IL, giving away 60 sneakers and lunch to 800 students with support from Pro Restoration and Culver’s.

On February 3rd, 2025, Touching Soles marked the start of a new year by returning to where it all began—Rockford, IL. In the city where their mission first took root, the team hosted their first sneaker giveaway of 2025, making it an unforgettable day for the community.
This event was more than just a milestone; it was a powerful statement of growth and commitment. Typically, Touching Soles provides 30 pairs of sneakers at each giveaway, but this time, they doubled the impact—gifting 60 pairs of brand-new sneakers to deserving students. In total, the event reached 800 students, ensuring that not only the recipients but the entire school felt supported and valued.

Partnering with Pro Restoration Roofing Co and Culver’s, Touching Soles made the day extra special. Culver’s generously provided lunch for the entire school and staff, creating a sense of community and celebration. Special thanks to Troy Zitzke from Pro Restoration for stepping up and assisting with the purchase of the sneakers, exemplifying what it means to invest in the next generation.
The energy in the room was palpable as students laced up their new sneakers, grinning from ear to ear. From meals to moments of encouragement, the day reminded everyone of the power of giving back—especially in the place where it all started.
Touching Soles’ mission for 2025 is clear: More schools, more shoes. The organization continues to expand its reach and impact, always rooted in the belief that every child deserves the basic necessity of comfortable, well-fitting shoes.
